Ameisenigel

Hello. I would like to request translation admin rights to be able to mark pages at Special:PageTranslation for translation. Since the next Wikimania is coming closer, there will be some more pages that need to be prepared for translation (the first page in 2022 namespace is already waiting for it) and I like to help out here. I have some experience with translation markup from other wikis. Thanks, --Ameisenigel (talk) 16:55, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Billinghurst and Jdforrester: May one of you have a look, please? --Ameisenigel (talk) 21:34, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't ping random bureaucrats. Except for emergencies, we leave administration of the wiki to the current Wikimania's team. This year, that's @Omar sansi, and we should defer to them. Jdforrester (talk) 12:53, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Eric Luth (WMSE) and Omar sansi: Or maybe one of you? --Ameisenigel (talk) 12:49, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Done by Omar sansi on 27 June 2022 for six months --Ameisenigel (talk) 14:48, 14 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Exec8

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, my tour of duty is extended until the end of the next physical/ in-person Wikimania. I would still need all my existing rights until first of March of the succeeding year after ESEAP's hosting of Wikimania (1 March 2024) --Exec8 (talk) 07:57, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As a member of the COT for Wikimania 2023 I am working on this wiki (currently migration from Wikimania 2022 into 2022 namespace). To be able to perform some actions (edit/move protected pages) and to take care of the maintenance of this wiki until next years Wikimania, I will need additional rights. Please grant me bureaucrat and administrator. Thanks, --Ameisenigel (talk) 16:06, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fuzheado

Requesting administrator and bureaucrat user rights. I'm a member of the Wikimania Steering Committee since 2016 and a liaison to the Wikimania 2021/2023 Core Organizing Committee. This requires a lot of maintenance of namespaces and pages as we transition from year to year and on-board new teams for Wikimania. Having these bits will make it faster to bring along new programming and technical volunteers, as online/hybrid is now a firm part of the annual Wikimania conference, requiring a lot more users and coordination. - Fuzheado (talk) 10:58, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Approved. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 12:41, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks much! Hope all is well! - Fuzheado (talk) 12:54, 20 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Robertsky

Requesting administrator and bureaucrat user rights. I am a member of COT for Wikimania 2023. I would like the requested rights to perform adminstrative/technical actions for the 2023 namespace, as well as for developing onwiki submission forms for 2023's programming, either using OOUI.js or with m:Meta:FormWizard. I am familar with some technical aspects of mediawiki, having submitting codes to enable 2023 namespace as well as developed script for enwiki (indexing script), and other scripts work-in-progress still. Remove admin and interfaceadmin from inactive users

Related to a discussion on Meta I would like to suggest the removal of advanced rights from inactive users. This currently applies for interfaceadmin to:

Good idea! Trizek from fr: 11:28, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Given it's the holiday period I'll give people a week or two to ping back in case they plan to keep participating now that Wikimania is back on. Jdforrester (talk) 18:12, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, @Ameisenigel it's now been three weeks so I've removed the +interfaceadmin right from André's and Evelina's accounts. This wiki doesn't (currently) allow mere bureaucrats like me to remote the +sysop right, so I guess we'll have to ping this back to your thread on meta, sorry. (Maybe we should make this easier?) Jdforrester (talk) 20:00, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All three are   Done now. Martin Urbanec (talk) 22:15, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Martin Urbanec Thank you! Jdforrester (talk) 15:23, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
