Discussion
editPlease submit ideas for speakers here
edit- It would be good to have at least one session using a panel, taking questions either from the floor on the day, or from emails/on-wiki a few weeks before (to enable participation from editors not attending). I'd be happy to facilitate the session and/or participate on the panel. --RexxS (talk) 21:19, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- "MEDRS - bulwark or barrier?" I'd be interested in running a mock debate between folks playing the parts of a new contributor who wants to write about a medical condition and an experienced medical editor. We could explore the topics of verifiability, sourcing, NOR, and due weight as they apply to medical topics. --RexxS (talk) 21:19, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yes a panel regarding sourcing requirements could be interesting. Doc James (talk) 14:47, 18 April 2019 (UTC)
- Agreed, this is a continual point of discussion/confusion (particularly issues around appropriate sourcing for types of claims). Soupvector (talk) 03:53, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
- Any psycho-therapist, oncologist, endocrinologist and/or surgeon; with financial support one or two of us could be a keynote speaker as well, if not neither probably even attend.
Best regards, Klaas `Z4␟` V cj?: 17:37, 6 June 2019 (UTC)- Unfortunately I am not aware of any funding to support attendance remaining avaliable at this point in time. Not sure what you mean by one or two of us? Which two? Best Doc James (talk) 18:44, 11 June 2019 (UTC)
Links to presentation files and videos?
editCan someone please add the presentation files and videos to each presentation of the health space? I have been looking for stuff and it's quite a mess. The material on Commons is incomplete, see e.g. here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimania_2019_presentations. Let's capture all the good stuff that was presented at Wikimania properly in an easy to access manner. I went to the page on the Health space and was expecting to find everything there. But I only found Stuart C. Ray's presentation so far (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/20190816_Ray_Wikimania_Stockholm.pdf) which is on the other hand not here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimania_2019_presentations @User:Doc James EMsmile (talk) 02:21, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- The first day was lost from what I understand. Mossab has some of it shot with his cellphone. If people wish to organize things that would be excellent :-) Doc James (talk) 02:27, 25 September 2019 (UTC)
- I have found a link to the sub-category on Commons for the videos which I have now added. Where can I find the presentations, is there a similar folder in Commons? Similar to this one but with the presentation files (not the videos)? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Wikimania_2019_Health_space EMsmile (talk) 01:36, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
