Initial allocation of advanced user rights

From a phabricator discussion, user rights were discussed and assigned under the auspices of WMSE's hosting of 2019 Wikimania.

The following rights were issued

Hi, I'd like to help out here with what I can. Therefore I would like to request translatiom administrator rights, and perhaps also administrator and interface administrator rights (with which I have extensive experience from various wikis). They can be set to temporary until a little while after Wikimania 2019 ends, I don't think I will be involved in any work capacity (i.e. this WMNO account) for Wikimania 2020. Jon Harald Søby (WMNO) (talk) 10:46, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am comfortable giving translation admin rights   Done and supporting your experience in administration and interface administrator, though leaving those decisions with WMSE representaives.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:59, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Returning section from archiving, for consideration.  — billinghurst sDrewth 11:18, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In support. I can give you administration and interface administrator rights. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 08:05, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  Rights granted for the duration of WM15. 10:48, 2 March 2019 (UTC)

User:sDrewthbot, bot of user:billinghurst

Bot to be used to create language/translation subpages of Wikimania:Mediawiki pages with translations and to avoid flooding Special:RecentChanges, and may be used for similar language creation requirements, where envisaged.  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:28, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Self-granted rights for what should be a non-controversial task, and hope that doesn't cause a ruckus.  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:28, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hearty +1, for the record. ;-) Quiddity (talk) 05:16, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would like to request sysop & TA flag. I had such flags on wm2015, wm2016, wm2017, wm2018 and I want to help on this wiki as well. Maybe I also can help as bureaucrat? Kind regards, --Brackenheim (talk) 13:26, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  granted for translation admin.  — billinghurst sDrewth 10:52, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! This wiki is quit new, so do you think I could get sysop flag one day? I would like to translate parts of MediaWiki:Sidebar ... --Brackenheim (talk) 12:26, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The current process is that the organising Chapter/organising committee is setting the parameters for rights assignation; so WMSE currently is controlling assignations of the higher rights. With regard to the sidebar, I believe that I am up-to-date with the terms, and there is a method in place to collect terms through Wikimania:Mediawiki pages with translations .  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:34, 3 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Quiddity

Requesting Interface-admin per Billinghurst's suggestion, and so that I can stop pestering him to do things for me :) I'm fully-familiar with the level of caution that needs to be used when utilizing these rights. Quiddity (talk) 07:43, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Revi

I used to have admin/TA on wikimania17 and wikimania18wiki for combating spam/vandalism/helping with Translate. Now that this wiki will be the permanent home for future wikimanias I think we can avoid future re-adminships on each wiki / each year by getting an admin/TA for once (and for all)? — regards, Revi 11:44, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Eric Luth (WMSE): Can you have a look at ^ and Quiddity's one? — regards, Revi 12:30, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I will approve your and Quiddity's. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 12:38, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Exec8

I propose that exec8, as one of the core persons in the organizing committee of Wikimania 2020, becomes an administrator on this wiki. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 13:17, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is the purpose of the organising committee to appoint its admins, and set the approach for the next cycle, so I believe we shall tick this one, and move on. I had tried asking WMF staff at meta to no avail, so glad that someone has the contacts. @Exec: do you also want 'crat rights so that you can assign rights to those assisting you, or will you utilise this page to get us to undertake the process on your behalf? (noting that it is open question allowing for any future decision).  — billinghurst sDrewth 23:38, 10 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

As Program Chair for 2019, I’m requesting Administrator rights please. I also had this last year for the same purpose. Wittylama (talk) 11:30, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Approved. Eric Luth (WMSE) (talk) 12:47, 23 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Revibot

Revibot needs the bot flag to fix double redirects without bothering RC. Global bots are not enabled on this wiki so I need the bot flag to do it manually. — regards, Revi 20:19, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Double redirects drive me crazy, and will be a problem on this wiki as we settle into, and create and correct, the structure here. Quiddity (talk) 06:12, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Billinghurst: Can you approve? — regards, Revi 16:26, 29 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Deryck Chan

I'm volunteering to be an administrator and translation administrator for this site since it's looking like this wiki will last multiple Wikimanias. I am an administrator of the English Wikipedia and Cantonese Wikipedia, and was a bureaucrat, administrator, and translation administrator of the Wikimania 2013 wiki, so I'm quite comfortable with housekeeping tasks of Wikimania conference wikis. I have attended 7 past Wikimanias and intend to go to Stockholm this year too. Deryck Chan (talk) 22:15, 7 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Helpful and trusted user. Quiddity (talk) 06:10, 8 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  Done translation admin ongoing; admin for one year in line with granting for per wikimania conf.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:32, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
