This meetup is intended for queer Wikipedians and allies as a space to socialize and also to discuss initiatives currently being worked on by the Wikimedia LGBT+ user group.

  • Governance of the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group
    • LGBT+ Wikimedians work has been growing outside of English speaking and North-West teritories rapidly in (post)pandemic and this should be addressed in further de-centering resources and governance
    • Wikimedia LGBT+ was awarded a grant to hire an Executive Director, Wiki Loves Pride coordinators, and formalize governance Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/General Support Fund/Sustaining Wikimedia LGBT+, a search for an Executive Director is underway and how people can apply for the position
    • First Board elections and membership registration happened this past year
    • Needs for communication across languages and cultures, conflict prevention, and mediation governance, transparency of governance practices, documentation, existing proposals, and future trajectories
