Abstract

edit

I would like to help attendees produce graphics and illustrations, particularly dealing with map data (vector formats -Shapefiles, GeoJSON), SVG (with Inkscape), graphs with R, and other possibilities.

Description

edit

This will be a clinic to help deal with producing illustrations, graphics, particularly vector formats for their own Wiki related activities. We can also look at the various issues involved with some of these including problems with the maplink template (on en.wiki) the Data namespace on commons etc. We will also help people produce their SVG illustrations with Inkscape and so on. I hope this can be audience-need-driven rather than a presentation. This will be similar to what Gordon Lee (animated SVGs) and I tried at Esino Lario. I welcome co-hosts to deal with any other forms that they are more interested in.
