Lydia Pintscher is the product manager of Wikidata. She studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe before joining Wikimedia in 2012. She is a long-time free software contributor, most notably as a member of the board of KDE e.V.
Abstract edit
Wikipedia works because a lot of people come to Wikipedia and read it. When they see a mistake, some of them will take the small step towards editing and fixing the mistake. This does not work for Wikidata in the same way. Let's find out why and what we can do about it.

In this lightning talk, you will understand how Wikidata differs in a fundamental way from Wikipedia, what challenges this poses and how we plan to address them.
