editUniversal Code of Conduct
editThe Universal Code of Conduct project is a major initiative of Movement Strategy.
The Universal Code of Conduct provides a baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire Wikimedia movement and all its projects.
The current phase of the project is outlining clear enforcement pathways for the code. A drafting committee of 11 volunteers and four Wikimedia Foundation staff members was formed to review consultations, discussions, and research. The committee met over several months to produce the enforcement draft guidelines for comprehensive community review.
During Wikimania 2021 and through mid-October, input in being invited about the draft guidelines. This outreach is performed by the Trust and Safety Policy team, as well as the Movement Strategy and Governance Support facilitation team in collaboration with review organizers. The input collected will be used to further refine the guidelines.
We will be available at the Community Village to collect input or answer questions about the draft guidelines, help facilitate community reviews, and field other questions about the Universal Code of Conduct project.
