2019:Partnerships/Consensus about samsyn - Swedish concepts conquer the world
This is a Closed submission for Wikimania 2019. It has been reviewed and was not accepted. |
Description
editFor the last year and a half, a consortium consisting of six Swedish universities has worked with building up a wiki with definitions and applications of words, names and concepts within the areas of collaboration and third stream activities, to ensure as far as possible that they mean the same thing when they talk to each other within this growing area. Working with a MediaWiki platform and following Wikipedia style referencing, copyright and such, the intention is to have the possibility to migrate the concepts to Wikipedia at the end of the project. While working with a new platform presents some challenges, most of which have been solved now, planning for a global approach and establishing a way to work in views from other parts of the world is a task that needs some thought and input from others. Building up a resource like this is great, but using only Swedish language and Swedish conditions would limit the use and usability. To solve that, input from experienced Wikimedians knowledgable in wp:Global and representatives from the academia outside of Sweden, are needed to finish off strong and make the most of what is already achieved.
