editA show case of the methods used to incorporate Wiktionary in university-level class followed by a discussion of the results and challenges and recommendations for improving future rounds of the same program, the interplay between Wikidata and Wiktionary, and copyrights and Wiktionary.

editThe organisers of the community growth space believe that the space will address the following Sustainable Development Goals:

This session will address the conference theme — Wikimedia, Free Knowledge and the Sustainable Development Goals — in the following manner:
Sharing global experiences and best practices & learning from each other and building capacity.
Generally speaking, the session is about the use of technology in teaching and the innovative role Wiktionary can play in this.

This session will address the topics of the Growth space in the following manner:
This session shows an innovative way to teach using a not-so-popuar Wikimedia Project. It opens up new opportunities for a different target group to be part of the Wikimedia projets' communities.
Session outcomes
editAt the end of the session, the following will have been achieved:
- A written learning pattern for future Wiktionary projects.
- Useful additions to Wiktionary participation guidelines regarding copyrights.
- A better understanding of the co-existence of Wiktionary and Wikidata Lexicogrpahical data.

editEach Space at Wikimania 2019 will have specific format requests. The program design prioritises submissions which are future-oriented and directly engage the audience. The format of this submission is a:
- Presentation followed by a discussion (1:2 ratio)

editThe session will work best with these conditions:
- Room:
with data show and chairs.
- Audience:
No prior knowledge of Wiktionary required.
Very suitable for:
-tertiary and university educators looking for a new and a easy way to get their students engaged in any Wiki project;
-linguists and lexicographers,
-people interested in dictionaries and Wiktionary enthusiasts.
