Wikimania@20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability.
Wikimania is the annual conference celebrating all the free knowledge projects hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation – Wikimedia Commons, MediaWiki, Meta-Wiki, Wikibooks, Wikidata, Wikinews, Wikipedia, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikispecies, Wikiversity, Wikivoyage, Wiktionary and Wikifunctions – with four days of conferences, discussions, meetups, training, and workshops. Hundreds of volunteers and Free Knowledge leaders from around the world gather to discuss issues, report on new projects and approaches, and exchange ideas.
Wikimania 2025, the 20th edition of this annual event, will happen in the city of Nairobi, Kenya with online/ virtual conference setup on 6th to 9th August 2025 and with pre-conference activities on 5th August. It will be hosted by a collaboration among the Wikimedia volunteers and user groups of East Africa (EARTHub) and the Wikimedia Foundation.
This edition marks a great milestone as it also celebrate Wikimania's 20th anniversary.
